“Independent Commission’ should be staffed with honourable, visibly unbiased people!
The Telegraph stated that :-
Confidence in the elections watchdog is evaporating as it emerged that almost half of its board have made public statements criticising the pro-Brexit campaign or backing calls for the result to be overturned, despite strict impartiality rules.
An investigation by The Sunday Telegraph found that four of the Electoral Commission’s 10 commissioners, including the chairman, had made pronouncements on Brexit since the referendum – all of them backing Remain.
The body’s code of conduct states that commissioners must “act at all times” to “uphold its impartiality”.
Jacob Rees-Mogg calls for resignations:–
Jacob Rees-Mogg is one MP leading a wave of indignation after it was found that four of the ten body’s commissioners, including the chairman, publicly spoke out against Brexit.
The members of the election watchdog criticised the pro-Brexit campaign or backed calls for the EU referendum to be overturned following June 2016, the Sunday Telegraph reported.
In three cases, the comments on Brexit were made while the Commission’s members were in post.
Sir John Holmes, the body’s chairman, expressed his distaste for Brexit in a speech, where he said that he “regretted the result of the referendum” and complained about “the panoply of Eurosceptic nonsense about the EU” heard during the campaign.
Tory MP for North East Somerset Mr Rees-Mogg commented the allegations, reported in the Sunday Telegraph, saying: “This is very serious as the regulator of elections must be impartial.”
As good a commentary on the disgraceful antics of the biased Electoral Commission can be seen below. The man in the video was an unpaid volunteer in the Leave Campaign. He was the target of FOUR investigations by this bunch of creeps: the net result? He was fined £250.00 for inputting ONE incorrect date on a financial statement: and this after a YEAR of these creeps tearing up the life of a man who had done absolutely nothing wrong!!! I truly loved the manner in which he paid his ‘FINE’!
